“GROOVEY” JOE POOVEY – LIGHTNING ‘ CROSS THE SKY / YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE – PRESIDENT 1981 ORIGINAL

Another small stack of un-played store stock that we have secured. This 1981 record by the Starday Rockabilly legend Groovey Joe shows that he could still cut it in the early 80’s.

Lightning side is a tough Rock n Roller that packed dance floors around the whole emerging Rockabilly world.  We used to bop to it but I imagine it would be a jiver hit today.

Man oh man, the flip side is fantastic.  It is an absolute double time capsule.  It holds the clear precise neo rockabilly sound that was coming to be as this was recorded combined with Joe’s authentic Rockabilly / Country stye that only comes from being the real deal.

Bloody hell we were spoilt back then and never even knew it.
