Buddy’s second 45 from 1956 and already he is showing that Rockabilly is not just a one trick one pony of a hundred miles an hour nonsense.  Modern Don Juan is a rocker taken at mid pace booted along by great sax as well as the expected guitar bass and drums.  The lyrics are fabulous comparing the lovesick teenager to a classic literacy character, simply brilliant.  The flip is a heartfelt ballad adding piano to the mix.
