JOE MAYFIELD – I’M ON THE MOVE / HOW’S THINGS WITH YOU – EXCELLO R/P

Fantastic driving blues with great horns and guitar from 1964 on the fab Excello label, but those super laid back slightly slurred vocals sound like a Louisiana vocal to me.  The fact his only other 45 is on Rocket lends credence to my guess.  The flip is a completely different style, a deep soul lament dripping with sadness pushed along by a room shaking, doom laden organ.
