MR. SAD HEAD – BUTCHER BOY / MUMBLES BLUES – RCA

It has been a while but here we are with another tune that us Rock n Roll from before the term was widely used, especially the Butcher side.

On Butcher boy Sad Head gives Wynonie Harris a run for his money as king of the blues shouters and he rivals Louis Jordan for pure exuberance.  A track that brings two of our favourites to mind has to be a real winner, and on top of that the guitar man is amazing.  This track was recorded in 1952 when the electric guitar was still new and this guitar player really is pushing it to the edge.

Mumbles Blues is a super swinging brass lead RnB number again with Sad Head shouting the blues.
