ROY GAINES – DEE DAT DEE DUM DUM – MINIGROOVE 10″LP

This great album opens with Dee Dat Dee Dum Dum from 1956. A track that is a mix of a whole bunch of different styles. It is a great RnB mover with a mambo inflection but the stunning rock n roll guitar break shows Roy was ahead of the game on the tough style.  Skippy is a Sissy is a storming rocker that blasts just about every other record out of the water.  But Roy is not just a noise maker, Alabama Sue for instance shows his soulful side and on Isabella his RnB groove is too the fore.  Dammit every track is great.  Another superb limited edition from Microgroove that you should grab before it disappears.
