TOMMY BLAKE – SHAKE AROUND – MULTIGROOVE – 10″ LP

On this album we get nine tracks of Sun Rockabilly at its best here including a particular and peculiar Sounds That Swing favourite, Lordy Hoody. This string bending wavy sound is nothing like anything else from Sun and unlike very little from anywhere else. (OK maybe Crazy Baby Ken Cook on Phillips Intl is in the same ball park single available here.) Now on most artist compilations the rest would pale in comparison to Sun cuts but here we have the pre Sun Koolit, real Texas Rockabilly and pre Sun instrumental Mr Hoody and the ever popular tale of woe that is F—olding Money. We are really happy to see Tommy getting an album with so many of his super cuts all in one place.
