Hi everyone, not too early for Merry Christmas is it?  It was an early Christmas here when these four fantastic albums arrived – absolutely great compilations of four fabulous genres. Get in quick, these are already going fast.  

They pressed this and said that is the last. Then it sold out so fast they realised that too many record buyers had been deprived, so it’s out again in its very last pressing. Probably…

I’m back. I had a great trip to Louisiana and Texas and have caught up with the orders made over the last few weeks. Thanks for your patience and great taste in the orders. I hit some record shops and a convention as they call record fairs out there. I have come back with hundreds of original 45s. I do not really sell originals online, because why have a shop and do that? But if you have a wants list please email it to me and I’ll see if I can fill any of the gaps on your record shelves.

We have a lot of new stuff coming out so let’s have a bit of a catch-up here starting this selection with Jukebox Music. Jukebox Music is a French record label that has been putting out fine albums for quite a while. They compile by theme or style and dig down a lot further than most people, including music from across Europe, America and even further afield. 

We were going to try ignoring the fact this is the first newsletter in an embarrassingly long time but we guess we gotta say something but, hey we’ve been busy! Busy doing a lot of buying and selling great records including releases from a brand new label which is bringing Halloween a little early this year, so let’s get to the music…

This week we have a stellar array of tip-top rockabilly. There really are some fascinating stories out there about local music scenes. Places where studio owners, singers, instrumentalists, writers and others crossed paths. They exchanged ideas and influences creating music that years later could be recognised as a distinct style. On these six EPS, El Toro and Dave Penny bring together the seemingly disparate sounds that emerged around Texas in the mid 50s to form one such distinct style.
